Aim of the traineeship
The Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators, located in Ljubljana, is offering a traineeship programme that provides opportunities for traineeships to young graduates. The programme gives trainees an understanding of the Agency and its role within the activities of the European Union.

A traineeship at the Agency is an opportunity to receive
professional work experience in a distinctly multinational and intellectually
stimulating environment, while contributing to the Agency's mission inassisting
national regulatory authorities (NRAs) to perform their duties at EU level and
to coordinate their actions whenever necessary.
Who can apply?
The programme is aimed at young university graduates who have completed at least three years of university education. Placements for university graduates are offered for a period of 3 to 5 months (with a maximum of 1 month extension).

Applicants must be nationals of a Member State of the
European Union. Successful candidates will usually have a background that is
relevant to the activities of the Agency, which can include:
Engineering or Economy graduates with specialization in the
energy sector;
Qualified lawyers with an interest in energy regulatory
affairs;
Qualified candidates with an interest in Internal EU energy
market for electricity and gas, European energy regulation and regulatory
frameworks.
Traineeships may be offered in the Gas Department,
Electricity Department, Market Monitoring Department, Director’s Office and
Administration Department. Please consult the Current vacancies for the

Minimum requirements
- Have an excellent knowledge of English (level C2) and at least one other Community language (level B2)

- Have completed the first cycle of a higher education
course (at least three years of university education) and will have obtained a
full degree by the start of the traineeship period

Selection procedure
We establish a list of eligible and suitable applicants whose applications, and in particular, educational background, qualifications, competences, motivations and preferences suit best the identified needs in accordance with the availability of places.

Before a final decision is taken candidates are tested over
the phone to check availability, suitability, linguistic knowledge
and to discuss reciprocal expectations. The telephone interview is held in
English.
Finally, the Agency’s Director selects the trainees based on
the list of suitable applicants and on the number of places available. Selected
candidates are informed in writing and receive all necessary information
concerning the traineeship.
Traineeship grant
The amount of traineeship grant is 500.00 € per month. A travel allowance for travel expenses incurred at the beginning and end of the traineeship is also covered. You can find more information about financial matters in the FAQs and our traineeship rules.
