Description

The School of Computing and digital Media of The School of Computing and digital Media of Robert Gordon University Aberdeen is now offering a number of merit scholarships to outstanding students who wish to study an MSc course at the School from September 2013 or January 2014. Please read through the following information carefully.

To participate in this scholarship program students must enroll in the following subjects:

  • Information Engineering PgCert/PgDip/MSc
  • Information Engineering with Network Management PgCert/PgDip/MSc
  • Software Technology PgCert/PgDip/MSc
  • Software Technology with Network Management PgCert/PgDip/MSc
  • Information Technology Management PgCert/PgDip/MSc
  • IT for the Oil and Gas Industry
  • Information and Network Security MSc/PgD/PgCert.

Benefits:
Part-fee: £1,000-£2,000 per award. Most scholarships will be of this type.

Eligibility
  • You may be an international student or you may be a UK / EU student wishing to study on a full-cost course (a course with a fee of at least £7000 for home/EU students).
  • You need to complete an application form and return it to the School together with supporting documentation.

In addition the selection of the candidates will be based on the following criteria:
  • The School will assess all applications against the following criteria: Previous academic record and your suitability for postgraduate study in School, ie: Class of degree / CGPA / final score of first degree.
  • Relevance of your first degree to the course you are applying for The standing of the previous academic institution attended Any prizes or awards given to you in your first degree Relevant industrial or professional experience.
  • Evidence of workplace experience that is relevant to the course you are applying for.
  • Personal achievements – evidence of personal achievements in your life to date which indicate your ability to contribute to the wider life of the University community during your studies and the professional community that you will be joining on graduation.
  • In the event that 2 applications are scored identically and only one award is available, the panel will award the scholarship to the first application received, using the date of receipt in the University as the relevant date.

Application Procedure
Together with your completed application form you must submit the following documents:
  • A scanned transcript of your highest academic qualification;
  • A scanned copy of your IELTS/TOEFL certificate or other English language qualification;
  • A scanned copy of your University offer letter (or email of you have not received your letter).

Submission Deadline
If you are starting your course in September 2013, the deadline for applications is 31 July 2013. Note that if you apply by 17 May 2013, you will get an answer in June 2013. If you are commencing your course in January 2014, you must submit your application by 6 December 2013.
