The Mead Scholarships & Fellowships is sponsored by the University of the Arts London
that is offered for prestigious undergraduate and graduates to support
programmes at UAL. Three scholarship awards of up to £2,500 each are
offered to undergraduate students and two fellowship awards of up to
£10,000 each are offered to new and recent graduates.
Description
Mead Scholarships and Fellowships aim to help students and recent graduates extend and develop their practice, expertise, interests and knowledge in one of three areas: creative practice, academic or post doctoral research, or social enterprise. They are designed to support recipients in the pursuit of excellence in fields which cannot easily be accommodated in a traditional academic or commercial environment.
Mead Scholars and Fellows would be expected to become 'ambassadors' of the programme. The expectation is to evolve the programme into a highly-respected community of professional peers with excellence of practice and reputation at its core.

Mead Scholarship
- UAL BA (Hons) 2nd year students at time of application
- All candidates must have completed their 2nd years by the time of undertaking the Scholarship
Mead Fellowship
- UAL BA/BSc (Hons) 3rd year students at time of application
- UAL MA/MSc postgraduates at time of application
- PhD students
- All candidates musthave graduated by the time of undertaking the Fellowship
Application Procedure
Please submit a project proposal that details the above aspects. Complete this application form (see below) and attach it to your proposal. Submissions must be made in hard copies and must not exceed 15 pages in total (excluding appendices). Applications need to be submitted by 30 April 2013, 10am by post or in person, addressed to:
