Kemmy Business School at the University of Limerick is funding PhD scholarships
for Non-EU citizens. The successful PhD candidates will be required to
work as part of a large interdisciplinary team supervised by Dr Stephen
Kinsella. The duration of PhD Scholarship is of three years which
covers scholarship fees p.a. plus EU fees for a maximum of 3 years (the
final year fee will have to be paid by the student). The scholarship is
awarded to new or 1st year PhD research student only and applicants
should be already registered for a PhD programme at the Kemmy Business
School. Electronic application is submitted by 20 Aug 2013.
About Scholarship: Over the last 4 years, the Kemmy Business School at the University of Limerick, has developed an integrated research strategy. The research strategy is encapsulated under the broad theme of ‘Organization Science and Public Policy’. The Kemmy Business School is offering a PhD scholarship under the following research themes:
• Work, Knowledge and Employment.
• Services Economy and Tourism.
• Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Marketing
• Public Policy, Enterprise, Governance and Sustainability. The Scholarship will be awarded to a new or 1st year PhD research student only (1st year students should already be registered for a PhD programme at the Kemmy Business School).

Eligibility:
-Essential
• First or upper second class degree (Level 8 – National Qualifications Authority of Ireland or equivalent) or a Master’s degree in economics, statistics, demography, mathematics, computer science or cognate discipline.
• Strong econometric skills,
• Computer programming skills and demonstrated experience in at least one high-level language, such as R or Matheamatica.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to write concise and accessible reports for both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
-Desirable
• Experience of research in an academic environment.
• Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methods.
-Personal attributes
• A strong team player with good interpersonal skills able to build and sustain effective working relationships both with students and teaching staff.
• A self-motivated researcher willing to develop their technical and analytical skills.
• Strong organizational skills with high level of attention to detail.
Scholarship Open for: Non-EU citizens are eligible for this international PhD scholarship.
Duration: The duration is of maximum of 3 years.
Value: The value of the scholarship is €14,000 p.a. plus EU fees for a maximum of 3 years (the final year fee will have to be paid by the student).
