Internship in the Network Services Unit Transparency Internatinoal

The Transparency International Secretariat (TI-S) is seeking a highly motivated intern to support the work of its newly established Network Services Unit.
Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 90 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.
The Network Services Unit supports the TI Movement in achieving the strategic goals set out in its TI Strategy 2015 by coordinating implementation of a global Institutional Network Strengthening Programme as well as other initiatives aimed at enhancing Movement capacity at national and international level.
Main function: Assisting the Network Services Unit in the preparation, implementation and review of activities related to TI’s Institutional Network Strengthening and Resource Mobilisation and Sustainability Programmes
Starting date: as soon as possible
Duration: 6 months
Department: Network Services Unit / Network, Chapters and Programmes Group
Remuneration: EUR 450 (according to the German labour and social security law)
Location: Berlin, Germany

Key tasks:
  •  Supporting initiatives coordinated by the Network Services Unit, including
o a learning review of a multi-country “fundraising mentoring” project
o a multi-country “executive leadership” pilot project
o a range of ‘small grant capacity development projects’ currently implemented by TI chapters
o a platform to share existing fundraising resources with TI chapters via the TI intranet

  •  Supporting the (logistical) preparation of related international workshops and meetings
  •  Assisting with programme-related communications work, including news bulletins or intranet updates
  •  Providing general administrative assistance in day-to-day operations (incl. financial management)
Knowledge, experience, interests and skills:
  •  Some prior office experience, including good knowledge of MS Word applications (essential), ideally gained in a national or international NGO environment
  •  Some prior experience related to event organisation, making international travel arrangements etc.
  •  Some knowledge/ previous experience of project management and the concepts of organisational development and sustainability, fundraising/ resource mobilisation; and monitoring, evaluation and learning
  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including fluency (written and spoken) in English, with knowledge of Spanish and/ or French a distinct advantage
  •  Strong commitment to the mission and values of Transparency International
  •  University degree (undergraduate or postgraduate) in a related field
