The Organization of American States (OAS) in partnership with
Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO) offers four
scholarships for master students. These scholarships are open to the
students from OAS member state for pursuing master program in Human
Development at FLACSO. Scholarships will cover 80% of tuition fees for
one year but can be extended for another year on the basis of academic
performance and the availability of resources program scholarship fund.

Eligibility:
-To qualify for the scholarship, the candidate must have completed the admissions process at FLACSO and have been admitted to the program.
-Interested candidates are eligible to nationality and/or residence of any of the Member States of the GS/OAS except Argentina.
-The General Secretariat staff, people who are under performance contracts with the General Secretariat, the staff of the permanent missions to the OAS, and their immediate families are not eligible to receive grants from the GS / OAS.
Scholarship Open for: Students from OAS member state (Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, The Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, United States of America, Uruguay and Venezuela) can apply for these scholarships.
Number of awards: Four
Duration: The scholarship is for one year and can be ordered its extension for another year, in the case of Master’s students. The approval of the extension depends on the academic performance and the availability of resources Program Scholarship Fund. The scholarship awards, in all cases, will cover only a portion of the amounts of tariffs, for a group of students.
Value: The scholarship will cover 80% of tuition and is subject to academic performance of scholarship which must approve all materials according to curriculum on schedule 6 consecutive quarters and get an average equal to or greater than 7 (seven) each term in order to maintain the scholarship.
Selection Criteria: Selection Criteria for Scholarship Applicants:
-Merit and academic and professional credentials of the applicant.
-The potential impact on return / completion of the curriculum.
-The geographic distribution of candidates to take into account the most important needs of emerging economies.
-Financial need of the applicant, based on what you indicated in your essays.
-The integration of a gender equality perspective.
