Education & Media Project Assistance Internship

URGENT - INTERNSHIP VACANCY 2016

in the area of education, communication, project management..?

An internship at our NGO might interest you!
ALPARC - the Alpine Network of Protected Areas- seeks urgently an intern in the area of Education & media project assistance at its headquarters in Chambéry, France.
>> We offer:
To assist the project managers in the coordination of the environmental educational projects, in particular the “Youth at the top” event planned in Summer 2016 (http://www.youth-at-the-top.org).
To participate in the creation of online thematic pedagogical resources to complete the tool “The Alps in my backpack”
To contribute to the development, administration and update of the various communications tools of ALPARC (websites, social networks, newsletters, leaflets, stands…)
And also to contribute to further tasks shared by the whole team:
To write press articles or releases, update the press file, update the website;
To participate in the organisation of international thematic working group meetings, as required (communications, education);
To participate in translations, as per language skills;
To participate in the update of the data base of the protected areas (File Maker) and the photo archive.
Duration: 6 months.
Start date: as soon as possible (ideally mid- April)
Location: Chambéry, France               
Conditions: internship with compensation according to the statutory regulations (around €500/ month) for 35 h per week. 2 days leave/month (accruable). 1 computer workspace provided. Occasional travel for meetings paid for entirely.

Degree in education, communication, media, environment, project management… or equivalent.
Perfect command of English and mandatorily 2 Alpine languages: Italian or Slovenian, or German and/or French.
To seek a concrete and rewarding work experience in a multicultural setting to complement your studies.
Having a strong interest in environment protection, ecology and international cooperation.
To be interested in how a small international non-governmental organisation works (statute Association Law 1901).
Proven ability on work independently and on own initiative.
Good IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database), knowledge of social networks

This internship primarily aims at providing immersion in the professional world of international cooperation and protection of the nature of the Alps, as well as learning to work in a team (multi-lingual team), planning and undertaking tasks.
