for the academic year 2017-2018.
These scholarships are awarded for pursuing a postgraduate research programme.

Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Science and Engineering

Scholarship Award: The Postgraduate Research
Scholarships set out on this page typically provide funding for up to three
years of PhD study. These Scholarships cover tuition fees and provide
maintenance paid at a rate of c£16,000 pa. We anticipate offering up to 80
Scholarships for entry in 2017.

Eligibility:
QMUL Principal’s Postgraduate Research Scholarships are
available to Home, EU, and International students wishing to undertake research
in any area of the Humanities and Social Sciences, Science and Engineering.
There is no separate application process for these awards. Applications must be
received by 31 January 2017, with the exception of applications for Law which
must be received by 7 December 2016.
RCUK Research Scholarships are usually restricted to Home
and EU students researching particular subject areas. In general, there is no
separate application process for these awards and applications must be received
by 31 January 2017, with the exception of applications for Law which must be
received by 7 December 2016.
Research Scholarships funded through industry, research
charities, and cultural organisations are typically tied to a particular PhD
project and have variable eligibility criteria. They have deadlines throughout
the year.
Nationality: Home, EU and international students are
eligible to apply.

entry to a research degree is a good second class honours degree or a masters
degree from a UK university, a recognised equivalent from an accredited
