Finance Watch is looking for a trainee in its Public Affairs
team for five months in our Brussels office, starting 1 September 2015.
The tasks for the trainee will be varied and may include
adapting research material for advocacy campaigns, assisting in campaign
meetings with members, preparing lobby meetings, and maintaining working-level
contacts with officials in the European institutions.
Candidates must have a demonstrated interest in European
politics and finance, and ideally be either recent graduates or students at an
institution of higher education. If you are a student, your institution should
sign the trainee agreement.
This role represents an excellent opportunity for students
or recent graduates with an interest in financial regulation and lobbying to
familiarise themselves with day-to-day lobbying work in financial regulation.
Our internal working language is English and we expect you
to be able to work independently in this and at least one additional European
language.
This is a full-time position from 1 September 2015 to 31
January 2016 with compensation.
If you are interested, please send a short motivation email
and your CV to and quote “Trainee Public Affairs” in the title of the
email, before 21 July 2015 COB.
Please make sure to:
explain your interest in finance;
explain any experience in politics/lobbying;
state your language skills, including at what level you have
drafted documents or conducted meetings in these languages;
clearly state your availability including the potential
start date;
include the latest version of your CV.
Finance Watch is committed to the principle of equal
opportunity for all interns, regardless of sex, marital status, nationality,
religion, age, sexual orientation and any other characteristics unrelated to
the performance of the position.
We look forward to receiving your application.
