BACKGROUND
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental,
humanitarian organization which provides assistance and protection to people
affected by displacement due to conflict. NRC is headquartered in Oslo, Norway,
has operations in 25 countries and representation offices in Addis Ababa,
Brussels, Dubai and Geneva.
NRC Europe was established in 2005 in order to strengthen
the existing relationship between the European Union (EU) and NRC. Since then,
the NRC Europe’s team has grown and is now made up of 10 staff. NRC Europe’s
main role is to support NRC, both headquarters and country programmes, in its
collaboration with the EU institutions by focusing on fundraising and advocacy
activities.
JOB PURPOSE

support, procurement, archiving and logistics arrangements.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
The Office Administration Intern will report to the NRC
Director, working closely with the Administrative and Finance Officer.
Main responsibilities related to Office Administration:
Provide support in processing of invoices and encoding bank
payments
Select and book appropriate venues and services
Ensure compliance with regulations for procurement and
record-keeping
Assist with facility management matters, including liaison
with the building manager
Order and manage office supplies and equipment
Provide support in the administration of meetings and events
Provide support with management of travel for the office
Handle travel management for the office
Assist in Implementation of system for recording of fixed
assets
Ensure adequate archiving of documents and data
Provide support with management of the internal annual and
sick leave registry system
Act proactively and seek continuous improvement in processes
and procedures
Welcome all visitors
Provide support with management of postal, telephone,
reception and general office-wide administration activities
Other tasks as needed
Other duties
Assist with any other relevant duties assigned by the
Director, as and when required
PROFILE
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
Multi-tasking and ability to juggle and prioritise diverse
tasks
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Ability to take initiative and solve problems
Proven communication skills, with cultural sensitivity
Fluency in English, both written and verbal, and a working
knowledge of French and/or Dutch
PROFESSIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
High School Diploma and relevant further education

Half time paid internship as per the Belgian “Social
immersion professional contract”, with meal cheques and transport allowance
