Swedish Council for Higher Education Scholarships at University of Skövde in Sweden, 2017

The University of Skövde is pleased to offer UHR scholarships for domestic and international students. Scholarships are available for pursuing masters degree programme.
The University of Skövde offers a number of scholarships to students who are attending an international master’s programme at the University and who are liable for tuition fees.
The University of Skövde is relatively young, but still comparable to the old prestigious universities in terms of quality. In the national quality assessments for 2011 to 2014 it came in seventh place.
Scholarships to students attending a master’s programme at the University who are liable for tuition fees. Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.

First apply for one of the studies at the University via University Admissions. You must apply for one of their master’s programmes at the Swedish official online application service University Admissions.
Then apply for a scholarship at the University of Skövde by filling in the online scholarship application form. Please note that you will need to provide us with the application number you received from the University Admissions website.
Application Deadline: The application deadline is October 1, 2017.



70 Government of Canada Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships, 2017-2018

The Government of Canada offers Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship program for Canadian and foreign citizens. Up to 70 fellowships are awarded annually (a total of up to 140 awards are active at any time).
The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program provides funding to the very best postdoctoral applicants, both nationally and internationally, who will positively contribute to the country’s economic, social and research-based growth.
The objective of the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program is to attract and retain top-tier postdoctoral talent, both nationally and internationally, develop their leadership potential and position them for success as research leaders of tomorrow.
Applicants must have PhD-equivalent or health professional degree from a foreign university.
Course Level: Fellowships program provides support to the very best postdoctoral applicants.
Study Subject(s): Fellowships are awarded in following research areas: Health research, Natural sciences and/or engineering and Social sciences and/or humanities.
Number of Awards: 70 fellowships are awarded annually, a total of up to 140 awards are active at any time.
Scholarship Award: Fellowships worth of $70,000 per year (taxable) will be awarded.
Scholarship can be taken in Canada or foreign countries
Eligibility: Confirm that you and your proposed host institution meet the criteria below before you apply for a Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship.
Applications that do not meet all of the eligibility criteria will not be accepted.

Citizenship and location of host institution
Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada and foreign citizens are eligible to apply with the following stipulations:
Applicants who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada may only hold their Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship at a Canadian institution,
Applicants who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada and who obtained their PhD, PhD-equivalent or health professional degree from a foreign university may only hold their Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship at a Canadian institution, and
Applicants who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada and who obtained their PhD, PhD-equivalent or health professional degree from a Canadian university may hold their Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship at either a Canadian institution or an institution outside of Canada.

The Banting PDF program previously had a limit of 25% on the number of awards granted to postdoctoral trainees for tenure abroad. This limit has been removed, effective as of the 2017-2018 competition.
Eligibility window for degree completion
Applicants to the 2017-18 Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program must fulfill or have fulfilled all degree requirements for a PhD, PhD-equivalent or health professional degree:
between September 20, 2014 and September 30, 2018 (inclusively), and
before the start date of their award.
Applicants who have not fulfilled all requirements for their degree at the time of application must submit proof no later than October 15, 2018.
Allowable extensions to eligibility window
The window of eligibility can be extended by a cumulative maximum of two years if the applicant had their career interrupted for the following reasons:
Parental leave
Illness
Health-related family responsibilities
Mandatory military service
Additionally, for health professionals who have engaged in post-degree non-research related clinical training (e.g. residency) – the eligibility window can be extended by the duration of this training.
No other exceptions will be allowed.
Interruptions used to extend the eligibility window for degree completion must have occurred after the fulfillment of your degree requirements and before the application submission deadline.
Justification must be provided in Special circumstances.
“Fulfilled all requirements of the degree” refers to the date that the applicant completed all the steps required for obtaining their degree. Although these requirements may vary by institution and degree type, they normally include thesis defence corrections and thesis deposition. It is not the convocation date.
Host institution eligibility
Institutions eligible to host a Banting Fellow include Canadian and foreign universities, affiliated research hospitals, colleges and not-for-profit organizations with a strong research mandate and capacity.Canadian governments (federal, provincial and municipal) and all for-profit organizations are not eligible to participate as host institutions.Please contact the Vanier-Banting Secretariat with any questions regarding institutional eligibility well in advance of the submission deadline. Other eligibility restrictions
Applicants who currently hold or have held agency-specific (CIHR, NSERC, SSHRC) awards at the postdoctoral level are eligible to apply to the 2017-18 Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program only if the term of that funding officially ends on or before September 30, 2018 and prior to the start of the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship. Early termination of the agency-specific postdoctoral award for the purpose of application to the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program is not permitted.
Applicants can apply for both the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program and other agency-specific postdoctoral fellowships programs (whether to the same or a different federal granting agency) at the same time, provided that the research proposed in each application falls within the mandate of the federal granting agency to which the application is submitted. *Applicants who are successful in both competitions will have to choose which award to accept.
Applicants must not hold a tenure-track or tenured faculty position, nor can they be on leave from such a position.
Only in exceptionally rare circumstances will a Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship be awarded to an applicant who is staying at the same institution or within the same research environment where they completed their PhD, PhD– equivalent or health professional degree. If an applicant chooses to apply in collaboration with the same institution (or its affiliated hospitals, research centres and other laboratories or within the same research environment) at which they obtained their PhD, PhD-equivalent or health professional degree, a solid justification must be provided in Special circumstances.
Applicants can submit only one application per competition year to the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program.
Without exception, Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships:
are tenable only at the institution which supported the original application for the program
must be taken up no earlier than April 1st and no later than October 1st following the year of application
are for two years
can only be held once in a lifetime

PR traineeships x6

Applications are now open for the Summer 2017 Taylor Bennett Foundation traineeship programme.
These programmes are designed to directly address the need for greater ethnic diversity in the communications & PR industry and are open to all BAME graduates. 

The 10-week programme is supported by Brunswick, a leading financial and corporate communications agency, and their global internship programme, Brunswick Reach.
On the programme six recent graduates will receive professional training in all services offered by the agency including financial PR, corporate campaigning and public policy, as well as the exciting challenges of dealing with a crisis and how to communicate effective messages to an audience. Trainees will also learn how companies reach and engage their stakeholders including the media, deploy content through traditional and digital channels, as well as other PR skills. Trainees will also participate in visits to PR teams at many high profile companies and receive expert careers coaching to help them plan their future in the communications industry. They will receive a training allowance of £245 per week (tax free) and travel expenses during the course. You must live within a commutable distance from London during your time on the programme.

Although there is no guarantee of a job at the end of the programme, you’ll be equipped to enter the communications industry. A typical entry-level Executive will support teams and clients by providing analysis on media and digital media coverage, stakeholder opinions, and political and regulatory developments, as well as relevant trends and events. A good understanding of the client’s business, strategy and communication needs is critical. Execs use an appropriate style and tone for all communications with clients. They contribute to and sometimes lead the production of high calibre materials, showing high attention to detail. Execs also ensure the smooth running of projects and the delivery of premium client service by ensuring all logistics for client meetings and events are executed smoothly. Execs nurture a network amongst peers inside and outside their firm.

The Relations Group team are so busy right now we are drowning in radio, TV and online campaigns; we are looking to recruit a few enthusiastic and creative interns to join our team for the summer! Our paid internships adopt a hands-on approach allowing you to tip your toes in a variety of tasks - the responsibilities range from liaising with the media, generating ideas and research for large UK brands and researching opportunities for future campaigns. You will also be writing blog posts and using social media. Creativity: You will need to identify what makes a story interesting for different radio presenters, brands, TV newsrooms or websites. Identify the hook and make it relevant for their audience and your ideas will turn into stories that will be broadcast to millions of people throughout the UK - week in week out!
Calm Under-Pressure: This is a role where you need to influence people every day! You will have targets and deadlines so if you are easily stressed then please don't apply.
Research: You will be researching many brands and relevant content ideas for campaigns; this involves a logical approach with an inquisitive mindset.

Bundestag International Parliamentary Scholarship

Description
The German Bundestag awards around 120 scholarships for young university graduates from 41 nations with the Freie Universität Berlin, the Humboldt University of Berlin and the Technische Universität Berlin. The program runs every year from 1 March to 31 July. If you come from Central, Eastern and South Eastern Europe, France, Israel, the USA or the Arab world, you can follow the procedures in the German Bundestag for five months by means of the International Parliamentary Scholarship Fellowship of the Bundestag (IPS), three of them working in a deputy office. The program is under the patronage of the Bundestag President.
The objectives are:
To promote relations between Germany and the participating countries;
Consolidate democratic values ​​and tolerance;
Deepen understanding of cultural diversity;
To ensure peaceful coexistence in the world.
Eligibility
The IPS is open to highly qualified, committed, open-minded and politically interested young women and men who have the will to actively shape the democratic future of their country. The scholarship holders are selected by an independent selection committee of the German Bundestag, with the participation of the Berlin universities, on the basis of professional, social, linguistic and intercultural skills.
Requirements:
Citizenship of the participating country (dual citizenship possible);
Completed university study;
Very good German language skills (at least level B 2 of the Common European Framework of Languages);
Less than 30 years at the beginning of the scholarship.
Benefits
Successful applicants will receive a scholarship. The scholarship includes a monthly allowance of 500 EUR, free accommodation and a health, accident and liability insurance. In addition, the costs of the arrival and departure to and from Berlin are taken over. The International Parliamentary Scholarship is financed by the German Bundestag.

UNU-INWEH Internship Programme 2017 in Canada

Successful candidates will have access to all the resources of the PhD programme, including limited support for travel. Applications will be welcome in any area of current research interest to the Centre and applicants should complete an application form for admission as a research student to the University of Dundee indicating on the form that you are applying to CEPMLP as your academic department and indicating on the finance section of the form that you are applying for a CEPMLP scholarship. As part of the application process you will also need to include a 5-10 page summary of your research proposal, covering the research question, relevance, methodology to be applied and originality.
Nationality: Applicants from the UK are eligible to apply for this scholarship programme.
