The Coalition for the International Criminal Court is the largest partnership in the world advancing the cause of international justice. The Coalition is engaged in ensuring the effectiveness, independence, and accessibility of international justice and related national legal structures, while also responding to more urgent local and regional developments. The Coalition works with all aspects of the International Criminal Court, as well as with the broader network of governments, the United Nations, and other institutions involved in the international justice system. Through this committed global partnership, the Coalition’s guiding mission is to make justice universally accessible for victims of the gravest crimes in an effort to secure lasting peace.

THE INTERNSHIP
The Legal Section of the CICC closely monitors the first steps of the International Criminal Court in building a credible functioning justice system and deliver on the promise of a fair, effective and independent Court.
The CICC Hague Secretariat has been training legal interns in its monitoring work, by attending and reporting on all ICC hearings. After review by a legal adviser, the reports are then sent out as informal notes to more than 200 organizations and interested individuals. Next to that, each intern works closely with a legal adviser on several varied legal research projects in the context of a fair, effective and independent Court (the projects are listed on:

QUALIFICATIONS
  •  University level education in international public law;
  •  Perfect knowledge of the English language;
  •  Excellent research and writing skills;
  •  Availability on a full-time basis for a minimum of three months, preferably longer;
  •  Ability to work independently and within the constraints of tight deadlines;
  •  Strong motivation and interest to work with an NGO on issues pertaining to the ICC.
REMUNERATION
Unfortunately, internships at the CICC are unpaid. We recommend all prospective candidates to seek financial assistance from their academic institutions or seek outside fellowships, grants and personal resources. The CICC cannot sponsor individuals applying for internships to help them obtain visas.

2013 School of Tourism EU Postgraduate Scholarships at Bournemouth University

Bournemouth University offers school of Tourism EU Postgraduate Scholarships.  Total 10 scholarships are available for students to pursue postgraduate programme at Bournemouth University. Eligibility: The Amsterdam Science Scholarship is open to students:

Duration: The scholarship is granted for the two-year programme that starts in September of a certain year and cannot be transferred to another academic year.
Value: -For students from the EER, the maximum is € 15.000,- per year, for the duration of the two-year programme.
-For students outside the EER the maximum is € 25.000,- per year, for the duration of the two-year programme.
Note that the scholarship cannot be used as a (partial) tuition fee waiver; applicants should pay the full amount of tuition (EER € 1.800, per year, non-EER €12,000, for the academic year 2013-2014).

The Programme Director will make a first selection and can recommend a candidate for a scholarship to the Science Scholarship Committee. An assessment will be made by the Science Scholarship Committee considering the presented information.
