Join Fur Europe as part of the Animal Welfare, science and
standards team.
Fur Europe represents the full fur value chain from farm to
fashion. In 2014 the organisation was founded by EFBA (European Fur Breeders’
Association) and IFF (International Fur Federation). It represents members in
26 of EUs Member States plus members from Norway, Bosnia, Iceland and
Switzerland.
The key aim is to deepen awareness and knowledge about the
fur sector and provide information and facts to European stakeholders. Fur
Europe works proactively to influence the agenda and to build up a strong
network among key stakeholders both in EU Member States and in Brussels. Fur
Europe’s values are openness, transparency and reliability.
In 2017 Fur Europe began the implementation of the
science-based animal welfare assessment program, WelFur. Over the next 3 years
the 4000 European fox and mink farms will be visited 3 times each by an
independent 3rd party assessment company.
As intern you will be offered a job with lots of variety and
interesting assignments. You will be part of a young a dynamic team that works
in a focused and innovative manner.
You will work under the supervision of the Head of Animal
Welfare, Science and Standards who is also the tutor responsible for the
internship.
The main topics where the intern is involved are the
following:
Assisting on the day-to-day communication to fur farmers and
other stakeholders about the WelFur program
Collecting and updating data on the WelFur implementation
Developing material for the internal and external website of
Fur Europe
Attending relevant events or conferences and report to Fur
Europe members
Requirements:
University degree preferably in agricultural science (or
close to finish a University degree)
Languages: Good level of English, both written and oral
skills. Dutch/German skills are an advantage
Ability to work in a team as well as individually
Good interpersonal, communication and IT skills
High motivation and strong interest for working with topics
ranging from animal welfare to fashion, innovation, trade and EU policies.
Internship period: 1st of April 2017 – 30st of September
2017. The working hours are 40 per week. The internship is paid.
