Job Title: Comedy Central Shows - Digital Intern
Department: Digital Media, Comedy Central
Reporting to: Managing Editor
JOB SUMMARY:
Comedy Central is looking for a creative, innovative and
resourceful junior who wants to kick-start their career in digital. The shows
intern will work on our biggest programmes, original short form commissions and
live events, supporting the Shows Editor to help promote Comedy Central’s shows
across TV and web.
We’re looking for someone with a genuine love of pop
culture, the internet and an almost encyclopaedic knowledge of television.
You’ll be a social media addict who knows how to string a sentence together and
have fun with Photoshop - and if you have experience in video production, even
better. You’ll be a great communicator and proactive team player with a head
for analytics, excellent organisational skills and obsessive attention to
detail.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Researching news and writing features
Suggesting content and marketing ideas
Coordinate the publishing and optimisation of content across
social media channels
Encoding video for the website and YouTube
Sourcing graphics and images for the website
Organise and mine our archive to resurface videos across
branded platforms
Liaising with other departments to ensure coordinated
rollout of campaigns
Help optimise videos for each platform
Assist the digital editorial team on other projects as
needed
ROLE - SPECIFIC SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES:
Desirable:
Experience with Adobe Photoshop
Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro
Experience in a digital environment
Required:
Experience with social media platforms including Facebook,
Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube
Experience with Mac and PC operating systems
Experience with content management systems
Desire to learn
Some understanding of the needs of an editorial team
Highly developed organisational and communication skills
An affinity and familiarity with Comedy Central and its
brand values
Ability to build great working relationships and take
direction
