European Snacks Association (ESA) is the only trade
association dedicated to the advancement of the European savoury snacks
industry. ESA members represent rougly 80% of the entire European snacks
market.
ESA's mission is to:
Promote the development and understanding of the European
savoury snacks industry;
Provide technical expertise and input to EU policy and
decision makers;
Be the voice of the European savoury snack industry in the
EU public debate;
Provide a platform for sector-wide co-operation on non-competitive
issues in full compliance with the limits imposed by antitrust laws.
ESA is currently looking for a skilled, motivated and
proactive person to join our team for a 5-month paid internship.
Key Tasks:
Support ESA’s Regulatory & Scientific Affairs manager in
the preparation, running and follow-up of meetings of the EC Regulatory and Nut
Processors working groups, including drafting background documents and
minutes;
Monitoring sector relevant EU regulatory issues on food
safety (e.g. pesticide residues, mycotoxins, EFSA scientific opinions, ...);
Summarise and prepare clear, accurate and concise
information to be shared with ESA members;
Communicate with members as required;
Attend external meetings and events where appropriate.
Profile Required:
Background in food science or technology with a sound
understanding of key concepts related to food processing and production (e.g.
agricultural production, chemical and biological contaminants, sampling and
analysis, hygiene, etc.);
Motivated and interested in understanding how the EU
legislation is shaped, drafted, and implemented, as well as its practical
impact in the food sector;
Well organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks;
Good research, analytical, organisational, and communication
skills;
Good interpersonal skills;
Excellent oral and written English (C2). Other European
languages highly appreciated;
Good command of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
