SAFE is a non-profit, independent organization based in
Brussels in charge to protect the consumers as a counterweight to the powerful
Agro Food industries lobby. SAFE strengthens the voice of the consumer
interests in civil society and contributes to reinforce participatory
democracies in Europe.
Amongst the main issues that SAFE is tackling there are the
European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), Additives, Pesticides (like glyphosate),
Natural Flavoring and Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs).

We are looking for an INTERN for supporting SAFE in the role
of
“COMMUNICATIONS & EU AFFAIRS” for 6 months, starting in
September.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree or current student in Political Science,
European Affairs, Law, Public Relations, Communications and Strategy,
Journalism or other related field with interest in Human Rights, Food Safety
& Consumer Protection;
Strong research, editing, writing and proofreading skills;
Excellent English with strong communication skills (written
and
verbal);
Be an independent, proactive, problem solver and team player
person.
MAIN FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Implementation and development of Safe Food Advocacy
strategy, increasing its visibility within the European context;
Monitoring and providing analysis of EU food safety policies
and legislation;
Conduct research, prepare articles and publications, advertisements,
presentations and press statements.
Preparing and posting social media updates.
