University of Bristol is one of the most popular and successful universities in the UK and was ranked within the top 40 universities in the world. The Faculty of Science is pleased to offer the University of Bristol Postgraduate Research Scholarships to UK, EU and international applicants. Scholarships are awarded by schools in the Faculty of Science.

UK, EU and international applicants showing exceptional research potential.

Scholarship

These PhD Scholarships include full tuition fees, full stipend at the UK Research Council rate (GBP 14,057 in 2015/16) and, in conjunction with the host School, a contribution to research costs at the UK Research Council level appropriate to the discipline.

The term of funding is 3, 3.5 or 4 years, according to the particular discipline and training programme, and is subject to satisfactory progress.

How to apply?

Applicants who wish to be considered for a scholarship should submit their postgraduate online application by the appropriate deadline to ensure they receive full consideration.

Application deadlines are different between schools, and may be as early as 31 December 2015.  It is therefore essential that you contact the relevant schools. In addition to the University of Bristol Research Scholarships, the Faculty of Science has over 90 funded studentships starting in 2016/17. Any sponsorship requests will be forwarded to the relevant School for consideration.
