The Programme

What we're looking for
An undergraduate in your penultimate year at university, you expect to gain a 2:2 or above in any degree discipline. You should have 3 A Levels in any subject (excluding General Studies and Extended Projects) plus GCSEs in Maths and English Language, all at grades A* - C. Equivalent international qualifications are welcome.

Purpose of the Role
Do you have a love of numbers? Do you dream in spreadsheets? Do you want to find a way of combining these skills within the exciting world of Broadcast? If so this role could be for you!
The role of the Viewer Insight team is to deliver actionable insights to all key functions at Channel 5 – ranging from the Programme Commissioners to the Schedulers and the Press and Marketing teams. Sitting within the heart of the Programming team, we ensure that everyone clearly understands the Channel 5 audience in order to create the right content to draw viewers in to the Channel day in day out.
Key Accountabilities
Contextualise, analyse and translate BARB data into viewer insights
Support the department in the implementation and communication of Viewer Insight
Coordinate overnight reports for the whole company and daily analysis of viewing data
Track the performance of all of Channel 5’s key programmes, including Big Brother, Celebrity Big Brother and soaps Neighbours and Home and Away
Track the performance of key competitor shows such as Strictly Come Dancing, I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Here and X Factor
Produce weekly competitor highlights for the UK digital channels
Manage the end of series diary and compile end of series reports
Assist with cross-department ad hoc requests
Produce regular monthly updates for senior management and the Marketing department
Experience and Knowledge
Proficient in Microsoft Office and in particular Excel
Good written and verbal communication skills
A high level of numeracy
A disciplined approach to work, ensuring that projects and requests are seen through to a proper conclusion

MTV’s International Social Responsibility department is looking for an intern to join the MTV Staying Alive Foundation. The MTV Staying Alive Foundation is an international content-producing and grant-giving organisation dedicated to stopping the spread of HIV among young people. The foundation creates and distributes challenging and entertaining HIV prevention content across MTV channels and with third-party broadcasters, while finding, funding and training young activists who are tackling the HIV epidemic in their own communities. To date, the MTV Staying Alive Foundation has supported 208 youth-led organisations from 70 countries around the world to set up their own local HIV awareness projects, totalling US$ 6 million.
Working closely together with the Foundation’s Deputy Executive Director, the Grants Manager and the Fundraising team, the intern will be responsible for the following tasks:
Key responsibilities
Assist with the management of incoming grant applications and with the selection of new MTV Staying Alive grant recipients;
Manage a number of MTV Staying Alive HIV prevention grants;
Assist with the organisation of capacity building workshops for MTV Staying Alive Grantees, including making travel arrangements;
Assist the Trust and Foundations Manager with writing funding applications;
Assist the Fundraising Team with the organisation of fundraising events;
Write and source editorial content for the MTV Staying Alive website, to promote the impact of the foundation’s work to a wider audience;
Assist with the management of MTV Staying Alive social media channels
Reply to all enquiries made to the Foundation via e-mail;
Provide general and administrative support to the MTV Staying Alive Foundation team.
Requirements
You have a strong interest in international relations and development, particularly in the fight against HIV/AIDS;
You have excellent verbal and written English communication skills;
You are acquainted with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel);
You have an interest in social media

Retail Marketing Intern


European Retail Intern, Consumer Products
Job Summary:
Working within the International Consumer Products department, this role reports to the Senior European Retail Manager. This role will consist of administrative and commercial management and be working to support the team with key European Retail accounts as well as building relationships with local territory retail teams. The successful candidate should have excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the European Retail Team with the day-to-day management of key Pan European Retail accounts (Toys R Us, Amazon, Claire’s Accessories, C&A, Aldi, Lidl, Deichmann, H&M, Carrefour)
Support the Direct to Retail team by sending out monthly newsletters both internally and externally
Develop relationships with local territory retail teams to ensure regular updates on local retail plans and activities
Maintain central EMEA retail documents including roll out grids, best practice documents, licensee lists and competitive retail analysis
Create visual reports highlighting market activity for sharing across International teams
Build relationships with local licensees to help facilitate promotions and product giveaways
Visit key retailers to carry out retailer comp shops and use notes and pictures taken to put together a report based on the insights
Creative ideation of promotional and marketing campaigns which can be used at retail
Brief creative team to create assets for marketing and retail promotions
Role Specific Skills / Attributes:
Experience within sales & marketing and/or brand management
Excellent understanding and use of PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
Demonstrated knowledge of UK and European retailers
Good attention to detail
Ability to work quickly and effectively in a fast-paced environment
Ability to build and develop relationships with colleagues and external clients

The Delegation of the EU to the UN in Geneva is looking for paid interns starting from 15 March 2018 for a period of 3-4 months.

Are you eligible for remunerated traineeship?
You may apply for the traineeship if:
You are a young graduate with a University diploma (at least Bachelor degree)
You have less than 1 year of professional experience
You are a national of an EU Member State, pre-accession State or from Switzerland
You have no previous professional experience in any of the EU institutions of more than 6 weeks
Additional requirements that would be an asset
Knowledge of French would be a strong advantage; knowledge of the workings of the European Union and of the United Nations would also be advantages
What are the general rules?
Duration: the traineeship can be up to a maximum of six months
Remuneration:

selected trainees will receive a monthly grant of EUR 1200
Visa

: trainees are responsible for obtaining and covering the cost of necessary visa
Travel

: trainees have to arrange and finance their travel to the EU Delegation

IRIN is looking for smart, hard-working individuals to join our small, passionate team, which works remotely around the world. EDITORIAL INTERNSHIP

Overview:  IRIN is looking for editorial interns to support our team of editors throughout the year who are smart, hard-working, and interested in pursuing a career in humanitarian journalism to contribute meaningfully to our production with story ideas, research, and reporting. Candidates should have a passion for uncovering stories, a flair for writing, and the determination to get to the truth and tell it as it is. With the assistance of our experienced editors, this internship will not only teach prospective journalists how to pursue a lead and help mine the data, but also give them opportunities to be published by IRIN and our partners.

Overview: IRIN is looking for smart, hard-working individuals to help us expand funding and syndication partnerships, execute our outreach strategy, and improve our visibility. You will be working with our Director of External Relations and Outreach and Reporting Officer. We are a small team, which means a minimal level of bureaucracy and plenty of scope for the right individual to take on responsibility and come up with their own ideas. 
You will support IRIN’s efforts to:
Identify and approach new donors
Liaise with donors and other stakeholders
Keep our donor contact database and funding prospects tool up-to-date
Apply for awards
Identify and approach new media partners
Track our impact (such as re-publications, notable feedback on social media etc.) in a centralised document
Run campaigns on social media
Participate in and organise key events
Produce our annual reports and donor newsletters
