Communications Internship

The European Climate Foundation (ECF) was established in 2008 as a major philanthropic initiative to promote climate and energy policies that greatly reduce Europe’s greenhouse gas emissions and to help Europe play a stronger international leadership role in mitigating climate change. The ECF is part of the international ClimateWorks Network (CWN) that shares goals, strategies and resources to address the global challenge of climate change mitigation as part of a global network of aligned organisations. It is funded by major multi-year commitments from donors in Europe and the United States. The ECF team is a highly dynamic group of individuals, combining ambition and passion with a rigorous, results-oriented and analytic approach to work. The Strategic Communications Team
The ECF’s Strategic Communications Team is the outreach unit of the European Climate Foundation. Its role is to act as a center of expertise for communication on climate change. Its objective is to help create political, media and public endorsement for strong action to address climate change at an international, national and sector level. It applies its communications expertise and resources to ensure that climate change issues are objectively and accurately reported and debated in the public space. The Strategic Communications Team delivers communications and advocacy services to ECF grantees and partners and builds this capacity in the climate community.
The Position – Communications Internship
The Strategic Communications Team is currently accepting applications for an enthusiastic individual to gain professional experience in climate change communications as a “Communications Intern”. This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate/young professional with a sincere interest in climate and energy issues and the way they are interpreted and reported in the media. As part of the media team, the candidate will work in the ECF’s Brussels Office in support of all programmes and projects of the ECF.
Intern Responsibilities
Assignments can vary depending on the strategic needs of the organisation, but the intern’s responsibilities will include some of the following tasks:
Working with the media team to support the international communications and media needs of the ECF and its grantees;
Contributing to the development and delivery of effective outreach strategies to drive progressive EU policy-making in the climate and energy field;
Making full use of IT and new media tools to disseminate the messaging of ECF projects and the work of its grantees further;
Supporting the development of the internal communications database at the structural and content level and making sure its contacts are up-to-date;
Monitoring of the news agenda and regular reporting on coverage;
Maintaining a dynamic calendar of ECF activity and external events to enhance communications planning;
Planning, promotion and coordination of conferences and events;
Other ad hoc research work and administrative tasks.
Experience required
The ideal candidate will have the following practical qualifications:
Demonstrated interest in the mission and values of the ECF;
Fast-learning self-starter comfortable in a fast-paced international environment;
Professional experience and/or academic background in the fields of communications, energy, environmental issues, EU/international affairs or public policy;
Media-savvy with proven experience in writing/editing;
Excellent IT skills and up to speed with the latest online communication tools;
Displays enthusiasm to help reframe the public and media debate around the issue of climate change;
Appreciates the vital role of administrative tasks;
Ability to work both in a team and independently;
Superior English written and verbal communication skills are essential; knowledge of other EU languages welcome.

BI Presidential Scholarship for Norwegian and International Students, 2016-2017

BI Norwegian Business School Presidential Scholarship is made available for the most outstanding Norwegian and international students. It is awarded to undertake masters program by the university.
The aim of the BI Presidential Scholarship is to enable and encourage academically able students from any country.
BI Norwegian Business School is an internationally recognized not-for-profit private institution, located in Norway. Established in 1943, BI has one of Europe’s largest and most productive academic environments.
Applicants with international bachelor degrees will be ranked according to their national GPA scale. In addition, the national GPA will be transferred and assessed in the ECTS scale. The minimum standard for test scores that BI accepts are: TOEFL – a total score of 575 points for the written test or 233 for the computer-based version or 90 points on the internet based test and IELTS- a score of 6.5. TOEFL / IETLS scores must be from within the last two years. Exemptions to the TOEFL / IELTS requirement may be granted for certain applicants.

2016 Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) University Scholarships, New Zealand

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand is pleased to offer two university scholarships each year full time study over the academic year (February to November). The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) University Scholarships are offered every year for students who are entering their honours, master’s or final year of PhD study at a New Zealand University.
The aim of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Scholarship is to enable and encourage academically able students from any nationality.
The Reserve Bank of New Zealand is the country’s central bank which promotes a sound and dynamic monetary and financial system.
To be eligible applicants must be studying full time at a New Zealand University and be legally entitled to work in New Zealand. Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.
Study Subject(s): Scholarships are awarded to students who are majoring in Economics, Finance or Banking.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for students who are entering their honours, master’s or final year of PhD study at a New Zealand University.
Eligibility: To be eligible applicants must be studying full time at a New Zealand University and be legally entitled to work in New Zealand. Students must have attained at least a B+ average and be studying full time over the academic year (February to November).
Scholarship Open for International Students: Domestic and International students who are legally entitled to work in New Zealand can apply for these university scholarships.
What does it cover? The value of each scholarship will be $10,000. In addition to the $10,000, an offer of employment is provided at the completion of their qualification. It is important to note that a condition of receipt of the scholarship is that you must accept the position with the Reserve Bank and must remain in that position for a specified period of time. Should this condition not be met you will be required to repay the sum of the scholarship payments made to you. The scholarship is valued at $1,500 in the first year, increased to $2,500 in the second year and $3,500 in the final year of study. The successful applicant will be paired with a Reserve Bank staff member who will act as a mentor. The mentor will make contact regularly during the scholarship programme and can assist with research, advice and provide applicant with access to some of resources at the Bank.

Your main role is to support international program and advocacy team of dance4life. Your Role
Supporting the international advocacy officer in the ChangeMaker project;
Analysing UN reports, researcher, literature, making summaries for the team and updating fact-sheets among young people and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights;
Setting up a system for documenting personal stories;
Creating a database of with content for advocacy purposes; UN reports and resolutions;
Support in creating tools/manuals;
Developing context analysis for specific countries;
Support in internal communication;
Assistance in collecting and aggregating monitoring data from NCOs;
Support in organisation of international meetings (likewise meeting of all NCOs);
Support the business development unit with research for country cases and lead opportunities.
