2014-2015 Faculty of Law and Social Sciences Doctoral Scholarships at SOAS,University of London in UK

SOAS, University of London offers six doctoral scholarships within the faculty of Law & Social Sciences in UK. Applicants must possess or expect to be awarded a distinction in their Masters Degree from a UK university. New awards offered in 2014 are valid only for the 2014/15 academic session but, subject to satisfactory progress, they may be renewed for the normal duration of a student’s registration (three years full-time and six years part time). The application deadline is 31st January 2014.
About Scholarship: The SOAS Doctoral Scholarships (6 scholarships in the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences) are available for students who are proposing to register full-time or part time for a research degree at SOAS in the academic session 2014/15.  This scholarship will provide remission of the tuition fees. New awards offered in 2014 are valid only for the 2014/15 academic session but, subject to satisfactory progress, they may be renewed for the normal duration of a student’s registration (three years full-time and six years part time).

 Scholarships are awarded in the following Departments: Development Studies, Gender Studies, Economics, Financial and Management Studies, Law and Politics and International Studies within the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences at SOAS, University of London.

Eligibility: -Applicants must possess or expect to be awarded a Distinction in their Masters Degree from a UK university. Applicants with a non-UK degree will be adjudged in the top rank by their referees and transcript.
-Only new research students may apply: those already enrolled on a research degree programme at SOAS are not eligible to apply.
-Applicants must have an offer of admission to a Research programme at SOAS by the scholarship application deadline.
-Open to Overseas and Home/EU applicants.
-Candidates currently completing a Masters degree are welcome to apply.

Selection Criteria: Candidates will be assessed on academic merit by a Selection Panel consisting of three academic members. The assessment of your application will be based on the information provided in your scholarship application and in your on-line application for admission. Selectors will be looking at the degree results and also at academic references, statement, research proposal and other relevant information.
Notification: Successful candidates will be notified by the end of June. If you have not heard by the end of June, you should assume that your application was unsuccessful.

International Sport Scholarship Program at the University of Stirling - Scotland

Every year, the University of Stirling in Scotland offers scholarship in sports for any potential student athletes. The sports may include football, golf, swimming, tennis and triathlon. Both undergraduate and postgraduate students are eligible to apply.

TIER 5 - YOUTH MOBILITY SCHEME IN UK

The youth mobility scheme is for young people from participating countries and territories who want to come and experience life in the UK. Every year, the UK government allocates a number of places on the scheme for each country and territory. The countries and territories participating in the scheme, and the number of places allocated to them for 2012, are:
Australia - 32,500 places Canada - 5,000 places Japan - 1,000 places New Zealand - 10,000 places Monaco - 1,000 places Taiwan - 1,000 places Republic of Korea - 500 places
If you are a citizen or passport-holder of a country or territory listed above, and that country or territory has not used all its places for this year, you might be able to come to the UK under the youth mobility scheme. Your national government will be your 'sponsor' during your stay. You can also apply under the scheme if you are a British overseas citizen, a British overseas territories citizen or a British national (overseas). You will not need a sponsor, and there is no limit on the number of places on the scheme.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are looking for interns who will support the Brussels Global Proxy Distribution team during the peak proxy voting season. Out of our ISS office in Brussels, the GPD team provides a single, turnkey solution to managing proxy distribution for custodian banks and an integrated proxy research, a voting solution for their institutional investor clients, as well as a meeting representation service to Belgian and Dutch companies’ general meetings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

2014 Marshal Papworth Scholarships for Developing Countries’ Students in UK

 Marshal Papworth Trust is offering scholarships for developing countries’ students. The scholarships are available for pursuing postgraduate and a short course programmes. Scholarships are provided in the fields of Sustainable Development, Waste Management, International Horticulture, but will consider more general courses such as Project Management and Economic Development. MSc & MA scholarships vary in value from £14,500 to £21,500 depending on location and chosen university/College. The scholarships are designed to fund the majority of tuition fees, living expenses and travel costs. 24th March 2014 is application deadline.
