The Fulbright Program are scholarships in USA for international students who wants to pursue a Master’s or PhD degree.  The scholarships can also be awarded for non-degree postgraduate studies.

It is administered by bi-national Fulbright Commissions/Foundations or U.S. Embassies. All Foreign Student Program applications are processed by these offices.

The Fulbright Program will not fund applicants seeking to enroll in a medical degree program nor does it offer grants to those who wish to conduct clinical medical research or training involving patient care and/or contact but it supports the fields of public health and global health.

Scholarship value/inclusions:

STEP Beyond Travel Grants

STEP Beyond Travel grants fund up-and-coming artists and cultural workers - with a priority to individuals up to 35 years and/or in the first 10 years of their career - to travel between EU and countries bordering the EU. Since 2003, STEP  - which stands for ‘Supporting Travel for European Partnerships’ - Beyond Travel Grants have supported the movement of hundreds of people across European borders by providing between €250 and €700. In 2010, we awarded 159 individual travel grants of between €250 and €700.

Funding mobility and exchange links closely to ECF’s overall objectives and specifically to our European Neighbourhood programme, which currently works with organisations in Moldova, Ukraine and Turkey. Also high on our agenda is support for people and projects in the Arab-Mediterranean regions. We especially welcome applications for STEP Beyond Travel Grants from these regions.

STEP Beyond Travel grants support artists and cultural workers based in one of the following countries: Albania, Algeria, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Kosovo, Latvia, Lebanon, Libya, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Morocco, The Netherlands, Norway, Palestinian Territories, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.

All the activities of the ECF mobility fund are revolved around three strategic guiding principles:

1. Empowerment of people through art and culture – support is given to different communities in Europe to encourage the exchange and empowerment of under-represented groups.
2. Connecting sources of knowledge – sharing and connecting knowledge is vital in creating an open Europe.
3. Linking policy and practice projects that help build an open Europe by contributing to cultural policy development locally, nationally, regionally and at a European level.

Eligibility

• Artists or cultural workers of any contemporary artistic or cultural discipline (individual or representing a cultural or artistic independent organisation);
• Based in Europe or in its neighborhood;
• Maximum 35 years old.

What countries can you travel to and from?
In order to facilitate the functioning of the fund as well as to reach its aims, the larger pan-European area has been divided in two groups.

• Group A: The 27 Member States of the European Union; The European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.
• Group B: In Europe: Western Balkans(Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, (FYROM),Montenegro and Serbia), Belarus, Moldavia, Russia, South Caucasus (Armenia,Azerbaijan and Georgia) Turkey and Ukraine. In the South and East Mediterranean: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya,Morocco, Palestine Territory, Syria and Tunisia.

Types of grants

The STEP beyond offers three types of grants (350, 500 and 700 Euro) based on travel distances and average travel costs. The eligible applications are evaluated by the STEP beyond team during the pre-selection phase, after this assessment ECF decides which proposal it will support. Both awarded  and rejected applicants are notified by e-mail around one month after the application submission date.

In case of group travel:

• a maximum of three individuals applying for the same event;
• group applications need to be submitted by the host organisation.

Dulverton Scholarship for Master Student at Oxford University, UK

Description
The Dulverton Trust is an independent charitable grant-making organisation established by Deed in 1949 by the 1st Lord Dulverton. These awards, funded by the Dulverton Trust, are offered to students from  entral/Eastern Europe who otherwise would not be able to afford to come to Oxford.

What does it cover?
100% of university and college fees, and a grant for living expenses (the rate in 2011-12 was £12,300).
Awards are made for the full duration of a student’s fee liability for the agreed course.

Eligibility

• Candidates should be applying to start a one year Master’s course within the University’s Medical Sciences, Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences, Humanties and Social Sciences. Only full-time courses are eligible. Deferred students are not eligible.
• must be ordinarily resident in one of the following countries:Albania,Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia, Croatia, Georgia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Moldova. Montenegro. Serbia. Ukraine.
• It has been confirmed that applicants ordinarily resident in one of the following countries are also eligible: Bulgaria, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania. Poland, Romania, Turkey, Slovakia,
• Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of outstanding academic merit. Financial need may also be taken into consideration.
• Please ensure you meet the requirements for entry to your course, including English language requirements.

Apply at the same time as you apply to Oxford by selecting Dulverton Scholarship in the Funding Section of the University's Graduate Application Form.

Danish Government Scholarships for International Students

Brief description:

The Denmark Government welcomes highly qualified and motivated international students from all over the world to study in Denmark. A number of scholarships are therefore offered each year by the Danish Ministry of Education to fund students from countries outside the European Union/ European Economic Area. The scholarships can be awarded for a full degree programme or for part of a degree programme at undergraduate or postgraduate level.

Scholarship value/inclusions:

The government scholarship consists of two parts and can be given as full or partial tuition fee waivers and/or grants towards covering your living costs. However, as the scholarships are administered by the individual higher education institution, you should ask for further details at the institution of your choice.

Eligibility:

In order to be eligible to apply for a scholarship you have to be:

•  A citizen of a country outside the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland.
•  Enrolled in a full degree higher education programme.
• Granted a time-limited residence permit in Denmark due to education

You are not eligible for a scholarship if you are:

•  studying in Denmark on the grounds of a bilateral exchange agreement
•  have a legal claim to the rights of Danish citizens
•  have been granted a residence permit at the time of admission by the Danish Aliens Consolidations Act §9c, subsection 1, as the child of a foreign citizen who has been granted a residence permit in accordance with the Danish Aliens Consolidations Act §9a, and who •  is a citizen of a country that is not acceded to the EU or covered by the EEA agreement
•  are a student who is eligible for a grant in accordance with Danish Law regarding the State Education Fund

Description

The Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences (BIGSSS) invites applications to its Ph.D. program. The program will commence on September 1st, 2012. 15 Successful applicants for the Ph.D. and Post-doc fellowships will pursue a topic in one of BIGSSS’ five Thematic Fields:
* Thematic Field 1:Global Integration
* Thematic Field 2:Integration and Diversity in the New Europe
* Thematic Field 3:Social Integration and the Welfare State
* Thematic Field 4:Attitude Formation, Value Change and Intercultural Communication

Scholarship

BIGSSS offers 15 Ph.D. stipends of 1250 Euros/month for 36 months, contingent on successful completion of each year. To support its Ph.D. fellows in achieving early scientific independence, it also provides funds for conducting, presenting and publishing research. There is no separate funding application, because all admitted applicants receive a stipend.

Eligibility

* An excellent MA degree (or national equivalents like the German “Diplom” or “Magister”) in a discipline pertinent to at least one of BIGSSS’ five Thematic fields (see above), i.e. in Political Science (including related degree programs in European Studies or International Relations), Sociology, Psychology, Law, Economics or Mass Communication. The degree must be completed by the end of July of the year of application, which means you may apply before having finished your MA degree.

Praktikum: Adalbert Stifter Verein Muenchen, Februar-Maerz 2012 - für Leute mit Tschechischkenntnissen

Der Adalbert Stifter Verein (ASV) in München ist eine von der Bundesregierung institutionell geförderte Einrichtung. Er ist als Kulturinstitut tätig, das die deutschsprachige Kultur und Literatur Böhmens, Mährens und Sudetenschlesiens einschließlich ihrer Wechselwirkung mit der tschechischen Kultur und Literatur erforscht und den deutsch-tschechischen Kulturaustausch fördert. Der Verein konzipiert Ausstellungen und veranstaltet wissenschaftliche Vorträge, Kolloquien, Autorenlesungen und Künstlerbegegnungen.

Seit 2002 ist dem Adalbert Stifter Verein ein Kulturreferent zugeordnet. Seine Aufgabe ist es, das Kulturerbe und die Geschichte der Deutschen aus den böhmischen Ländern einem breiteren Publikum nahe zu bringen. Dies geschieht insbesondere durch Veranstaltungen wie grenzüberschreitende Seminare, Ausstellungen, Studienreisen, Einzelveranstaltungen (Lesungen, Vorträge, Konzerte) u. ä.

Aufgaben während des Praktikums:
-      Kommunikation in Vertretung für den Kulturreferenten für die böhmischen Länder (befindet sich von 13.1.-13.3.2012 in Elternzeit) nach außen, Projektvorbereitungen und Recherchen
-      Mitarbeit bei Presse- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit des ASV
-      Mitarbeit beim Transport, Auf- und Abbau von Ausstellungen des ASV
-      Kleine Textkorrekturarbeiten

Anforderungen:
-      Gute MS-Office-Kenntnisse
-      Gute bis sehr gute Tschechisch-Kenntnisse
-      Kommunikationsfreude
-      Zuverlässigkeit und eigenverantwortliches Handeln
-      Flexibilität
-      Starkes Interesse an Kultur und deutsch-tschechischen Beziehungen

Zeitraum: 6. Februar - 16. März, ca. 18 Wochenstunden, flexible Arbeitszeiten möglich

Die Vergütung/Aufwandsentschädigung für den Zeitraum des Praktikums beträgt 300 EUR. Hilfestellung bei der Suche nach einer Unterkunft in München kann leider nicht gewährt werden.
